1. LORD JUSTICE LAWS: This is a renewed application for permission to appeal against the decision of Newman J, given in the Administrative Court on 5 March 2002, when he dismissed the applicant's application for permission to judicially review the Secretary of State's refusal to grant him a period of remission against the sentence of 18 months passed upon him in August 2001 for offences of false accounting.
2. His reason for his seeking remission was in consideration of certain commendable acts carried out by him in 1994 shortly before he was due to be released from an earlier sentence. I refused permission to appeal on the papers on 14 May 2002. The applicant is not here today to prosecute his application for permission to appeal.
3. On reconsideration of the papers I see nothing to change my mind from the view I took on 14 May 2002. I consider the case to be unarguable and I will refuse permission.
Order: Permission to appeal refused.
