CERVICALCHECK TRIBUNAL (AMENDMENT) ACT 2021 | ||
An Act to amend the CervicalCheck Tribunal Act 2019 to extend the period for the making of claims for compensation to the CervicalCheck Tribunal; to provide that the Minister may by order extend that period; and to provide for related matters. | ||

Be it enacted by the Oireachtas as follows: | ||
Amendment of section 12 of CervicalCheck Tribunal Act 2019 | ||
1. Section 12 of the CervicalCheck Tribunal Act 2019 is amended— | ||
(a) in subsection (1) — | ||
(i) by the substitution, in paragraph (a), of the following subparagraph for subparagraph (ii): | ||
“(ii) on or before the 26th day of January 2022 or such later date, being a date not later than the 26th day of July 2022, as the Minister may by order specify under subsection (3A),”, | ||
and | ||
(ii) by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (b): | ||
“(b) in any other case, on or before the 26th day of January 2022 or such later date, being a date not later than the 26th day of July 2022, as the Minister may by order specify under subsection (3A).”, | ||
and | ||
(b) by the insertion of the following subsection after subsection (3): | ||
“(3A) The Minister may— | ||
(a) if and only if he or she is satisfied, having regard to the purposes of this Act, that there is good and sufficient reason for so doing, and | ||
(b) after consultation with— | ||
(i) the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, | ||
(ii) any other Minister of the Government as the Minister considers appropriate having regard to the functions of that other Minister of the Government, and | ||
(iii) the Tribunal, | ||
by order specify a later date for the purposes of paragraphs (a)(ii) and (b) of subsection (1).”. | ||
Short title | ||
2. This Act may be cited as the CervicalCheck Tribunal (Amendment) Act 2021. |
