THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (TEMPORARY PROVISIONS) ACT, 1923. |

WHEREAS it is enacted in effect by sub-section (2) of section 20 of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923 , that the Minister for Local Government and Public Health may by Order make such adaptations of any existing enactment relating to any matter dealt with or affected by the Act as appear to him necessary or expedient for carrying into effect the Act or the County Scheme made thereunder: |

AND WHEREAS the expression " existing enactments " is defined in Section 21 of the Act to mean enactments in force in Saorstát Éireann at the date of the passing of the Act: |

AND WHEREAS Section 11 of the Lunatic Asylums (Ireland) Act, 1875, is an existing enactment within the meaning of the Act, and it appears to the Minister for Local Government and Public Health necessary and expedient for carrying into effect the Act and the County Schemes made thereunder to make the adaptations hereinafter appearing in the said section: |

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers given to him by sub-section (2) of section 20 of the Act and of all other powers in this behalf enabling him does by this Order, order and direct as follows:-- |
||
1. Section 11 of the Lunatic Asylums (Ireland) Act, 1875, shall be adapted by the substitution therein of " county home of the county " for " workhouse of the union "; and of " county board of health of the said county " for " guardians of the said union ": |
||
2. This Order may be cited as the Adaptation (Lunatic Asylums) Order, 1924. |
