THE PARASITIC MANGE (CATTLE) ORDER OF 1927.

THE PARASITIC MANGE (CATTLE) ORDER OF 1927.

(Dated 31st May, 1927.)

The Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in them under the joint operation of the Agriculture and Technical Instruction (Ireland) Act, 1899, and of the Diseases of Animals Acts, 1894 to 1914, and of every other power enabling them in this behalf, do, with the concurrence of the Minister for Lands and Agriculture, hereby order:—

Extension of Definition of Disease.

1. Parasitic Mange of cattle shall be a disease for the purposes of the following sections of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894, namely :—

Section four (Notice of Disease) ;

Sections twenty-two and sixty-five (Orders) ;

Sections forty-three and seventy-four (Powers of Police) ; and

Section forty-four (Powers of Inspectors),

and all other sections of that Act containing provisions relative to or consequent on the provisions of these sections, including such sections as provide for offences and procedure

Application.

2. (1) The provisions of the Parasitic Mange (Ireland) Order of 1919 shall, in the Irish Free State, apply to cattle as well as to horses, asses, and mules, and that Order shall be read and have effect accordingly.

(2) The Exportation of Animals (Irish Free State) Order of 1923 shall be read and have effect as if the definition of "Diseases" in Article 7 thereof included Parasitic Mange of cattle.

Interpretation.

3. In this Order "cattle" means a bull, cow, ox, heifer, or calf.

Commencement.

4. This Order shall come into operation on the date hereof.

Short Title.

5. This Order may be cited as the Parasitic Mange (Cattle) Order of 1927.
