JURORS (MINIMUM RATING QUALIFICATION) (COUNTY GALWAY) ORDER, 1928.

JURORS (MINIMUM RATING QUALIFICATION) (COUNTY GALWAY) ORDER, 1928.

WHEREAS it is enacted by Sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Juries Act, 1927 (No. 23 of 1927), that the Minister for Justice shall by order prescribe for every jury district the rateable value of land which is to be the minimum rating qualification for jurors in that jury district, and may by any such Order prescribe different rateable value in respect of different classes of land:

AND WHEREAS it is enacted by Sub-section (2) of the said Section 2 of the said Juries Act, 1927 , that the Minister for Justice may from time to time as and when he thinks fit by Order vary the rateable value so prescribed by him in respect of land or any class or classes of land in any jury district:

AND WHEREAS by an Order entitled the Jurors (Minimum Rating Qualification) Order, 1927, dated the 1st day of November, 1927, the Minister for Justice did prescribe £10 as the Minimum Rating Qualification for all the Jury Districts in the County of Galway as regards "Other hereditaments only":

AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the Minimum Rating Qualification for Jurors in County Galway, so far as it relates to "other hereditaments only" should be varied:

NOW, I, JAMES FITZGERALD-KENNEY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Sub-section (1) and Sub-section (2) of Section 2 of the Juries Act, 1927 (No. 23 of 1927), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as folows:—

(1) This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Jurors Minimum Rating Qualification (County Galway) Order, 1928.

(2) The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

(3) In this Order the expression "other hereditaments" has the same meaning as it has in the Jurors (Minimum Rating Qualification) Order, 1927.

(4) The minimum rating qualification for Jurors in every Jury District in County Galway as regards " Other hereditaments only shall be £7, and the Jurors (Minimum Rating Qualification) Order, 1927, is hereby varied to that extent.
