BY-LAW No. 433 OYSTER FISHERIES

CLEW BAY.


I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Fisheries Act, 1925 , the Fisheries (Re-distribution of Public Services) Order, 1934, and of every other power enabling me in this behalf DO MAKE AND ORDAIN THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW :—

(1) It shall not be lawful during the period from the 1st day of October, 1937, to the 30th day of September, 1939, both said days inclusive, to dredge for, take, catch or destroy any Oyster or Oyster Brood in that part of Clew Bay enclosed by the Mainland, the islands of Collanmore, Collanbeg, Islandmore and Freaghillaun, and straight lines drawn from the Bridge between the Townlands of Claggan and Roscahill to the most northern part of Collanmore ; from the western extremity of Collanmore to the northern extremity of Collanbeg ; from the western extremity of Collanbeg in a northerly direction to Islandmore ; from the eastern extremity of Freaghillaun to the western extremity of Carrigeenglas W. and thence to the north-western extremity of the Townland of Claggan.

(2) Each and every person offending against this By-Law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding Five Pounds, and any Oyster or Oyster Brood taken in contravention thereof shall be forfeited.

(3) The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923) applies to the interpretation of this By-Law in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

(4) This By-Law may be cited for all purposes as the Clew Bay Oyster By-Law No. 433, 1937.
