SUGAR (PROHIBITION OF IMPORT) ORDER, 1940. | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (1) of Section 2 of the Sugar (Control of Import) Act, 1936 (No. 16 of 1936), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that the Government may, at any time and from time to time, by order (in the said Act referred to as a prohibition order) prohibit the importation into Ireland during a specified period (beginning after the date of such order) of sugar, not manufactured or produced in Ireland, save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf granted under the said Act : | ||
NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (1) of Section 2 of the Sugar (Control of Import) Act, 1936 (No. 16 of 1936), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power them in this, behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows :— | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Sugar (Prohibition of Import) Order, 1940. | ||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. | ||
3. The importation into Ireland in the period from the 1st day of May, 1940, to the 30th day of April, 1941, of sugar not manufactured or produced in Ireland is hereby prohibited, save under and in accordance with a licence in that behalf granted under the Sugar (Control of Import) Act, 1936 (No. 16 of 1936). | ||
