MILK BOARDS (ELECTIONS) REGULATIONS, 1944.

I, SÉAMAS O RIAIN, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Milk (Regulation of Supply and Price) Acts, 1936 and 1941, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

Short title and collective citation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Milk Boards (Elections) Regulations, 1944.

(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations may be cited together as the Milk Boards (Elections) Regulations, 1937 and 1944.

The Principal Regulations

2. In these Regulations, the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Milk Boards (Elections) Regulations, 1937 ( S. R. & O. No. 178 of 1937 ).

Amendment of Regulation 14 of Principal Regulations

3. Regulation 14 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the deletion in clause (III) of sub-paragraph (vi) of paragraph (f) of the words " the value of twopence " and the substitution therefor of the words " such value as is for the time being specified by the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs as the prepaid rate of postage for inland letters not exceeding three ounces in weight."

Amendment of Schedule to Principal Regulations

4. The Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by :—

(a) the deletion of Form No. 1 and the substitution therefor of the Form contained in the First Schedule to this Order, and

(b) the deletion of Form No. 6 and the substitution therefor of the Form contained in the Second Schedule to these Regulations.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

FORM NO. 1.

FORM OF NOTICE OF ELECTION.

The returning officer for the election of the above-named class of ordinary members of the said Board hereby gives notice that he will on the...............day of.......................................................now next ensuing between the hours of 10 in the forenoon and 4 in the afternoon attend at the offices of the said Board at......................................to receive nominations for the election of (c) .......................................................ordinary members of the above-named class.

(a) Insert name of Board.

(b) State here whether producer members, retailer members or wholesaler members.

(c) Insert number of vacancies to be filled.

(d) Candidates for election must be entered on the electoral roll prepared for the purposes of the election.

Any person whose name is entered on the electoral roll prepared for the purposes of the election may obtain, free of charge on application at the offices of the Board, a copy of the said electoral roll and a form of nomination paper.

Every nomination paper must be signed by (e)............................person(s) (exclusive of the candidate) whose name(s) are or is entered on the said electoral roll, and must include a statement by the candidate of his consent to be so nominated, signed by himself.

Every nomination paper must be delivered to the returning officer either at the place above-mentioned, between the hours of............and............on the............day of..............................or may be delivered by post or handed to him at any time before 10 a.m. on the............day of..........................................

A candidate may withdraw his candidature by furnishing notice to that effect signed by him to the returning officer, before......................on the............................day of........................................

If the election is contested ballot papers will be issued on the..................day of......................................, and the poll will close at 12 noon on the..................day of........................................

Any ballot paper received after the close of the poll will not be counted.
