S.I. No. 230/1948:

CORK PORT (ENFORCEMENT OF HEALTH REGULATIONS) ORDER, 1948.

CORK PORT (ENFORCEMENT OF HEALTH REGULATIONS) ORDER, 1948.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him be section 101 of the Health Act, 1947 , hereby orders as follows :--

1. In this Order--

the expression "the Corporation" means the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Cork;

the expression "the County Council" means the Council of the County of Cork;

the expression "the Health Regulations" means the Infectious Diseases (Shipping) Regulations, 1948;

the expression "the Minister" means the Minister for Health;

the expression "the Port" means the whole of that port of the customs port of cork which lies between Power Head and Cork Head in the County of Cork together with the waters of the said port of Cork within such limits and all docks, basins, harbours, creeks, rivers, channels, bays and streams within the aforesaid limits and the places for the time being appointed as the customs boarding station or stations for such part of the said port and the places for the time being appointed under the Health Regulations for the mooring and anchoring of a ship.

2. The County Council and the Corporation are hereby authorised to act jointly in the enforcing of the Health Regulations in the Port.

3. The Health Regulations shall be enforced by the officers and servants of the Corporation on behalf of the Corporation and the County Council.

4. The County council shall contribute to the Corporation one-third of the expenses incurred by the Corporation in the execution of the Health Regulations in the Port.

5. This order may be cited as the Cork Port (Enforcement of Health Regulations) Order, 1948.
