SCHOOL ATTENDANCE (DUN LAOGHAIRE BOROUGH SCHOOL ATTENDANCE COMMITTEES) ORDER, 1950. |
||
WHEREAS by virtue of section 10 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), as amended by section 89 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1930 (No. 27 of 1930), the Minister for Education, after consultation with the Minister for Local Government, may by order prescribe the mode of filling casual vacancies in the school attendance committee for a school attendance area co-terminous with or included in the borough of Dun Laoghaire and the period of office of persons appointed to fill such vacancies :-- |

NOW I, Risteárd Ua. Maolchatha, the Minister for Education, after consultation with the Minister for Local Government and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 10 of the School Attendance Act, 1926 (No. 17 of 1926), as amended by section 89 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1930 (No. 27 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :-- |

1. This Order may be cited as the School Attendance (Dún Laoghaire Borough School Attendance Committees) Order, 1950. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. |
||
3. In this Order the expression " the Borough Council " means the Council established under that name by the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1930 (No. 27 of 1930). |
||
4. Where upon the making of this Order there exists any vacancy in the membership of the school attendance area co-terminous with or included in the borough of Dún Laoghaire and such vacancy was caused by any member of such committee appointed by the Borough Council having ceased to be such member through the operation of the Local Elections Acts, 1927 to 1942, and the Local Elections Act, 1948 (No. 8 of 1948), the following provisions shall have effect, that is to say : |

(a) The Dún Laoghaire Borough Manager and Town Clerk shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the making of this Order, send notice in writing of the fact of such vacancy to the Borough Council, |
||
(b) on receipt of such notice, the Borough Council may appoint a person to be a member of such committee to fill the vacancy, |
||
(c) such person shall (unless he previously dies, resigns or is removed from office) hold office as a member of such committee until the 31st day of March, 1952, and no longer. |
||
