S.I. No. 223/1952:

NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE (ARREARS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1952.

NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE (ARREARS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1952.

The Minister for Social Welfare in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the National Health Insurance Acts, 1911 to 1952, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, by this, his Order makes the following Regulations: --

1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Insurance (Arrears) (Amendment) Regulations, 1952 and shall be read as one with the National Health Insurance (Arrears) Regulations, 1946 (S. R. & O., No. 223 of 1946).

2. In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires:--

the expression "the Principal Regulations" means the National Health Insurance (Arrears) Regulations, 1946 (S. R. & O., No. 223 of 1946).

3. Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations shall be read and have effect as if for the words "or, in the case of a woman", wherever they occur, there were substituted the words "or, in the case of a married woman to whom paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of Section 86 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 refers" (hereinafter called "a woman of the specified class").

4. The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations shall be read and have effect as if

(I) in Part I

(a) in the case of a man for the amounts in column (6) there were substituted the corresponding amounts in column (2),

(b) in the case of a woman (other than a woman of the specified class) for the amounts in column (4) and column (6) there were substituted the corresponding amounts in column (2),

(c) in the case of a woman of the specified class for the amounts in column (4) and column (6) there were substituted the corresponding amounts in column (5);

(II) in Part II for the amounts in column (4) and column (6) there were substituted the corresponding amounts in column (2).

5. These Regulations shall come into operation and have effect as on and from the 7th day of July, 1952.
