S.I. No. 202/1953:

DUBLIN TRAFFIC (PARKING AND WAITING) (AMENDMENT) BYE-LAWS, 1953.

DUBLIN TRAFFIC (PARKING AND WAITING) (AMENDMENT) BYE-LAWS, 1953.

WHEREAS the Commissioner of the Gáda Síochaána has, before making the bye-laws hereinafter set forth, consulted the Right Honorable the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Dublin, the Council of the County of Dublin, and the Corporation of Dú Laoghaire in regard thereto :

NOW, I, DANIEL COSTIGAN, Commissioner of the Gárda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 150 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), and of the powers conferred on me by section 147 of the said Act, and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Local Government testified by his Official Seal affixed thereto, make the following bye-laws in respect of the Dublin Metropolitan Area, that is to say :--

1. These bye-laws may be cited as the Dublin Traffic (Parking and Waiting) (Amendment) Bye-Laws, 1953.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these bye-laws.

3.--(1) In these bye-laws " the principal bye-laws " means the Dublin Traffic (Parking and Waiting) Bye-Laws, 1949 ( S.I. No. 70 of 1949 ).

(2) These bye-laws shall be construed as one with the principal bye-laws.

4. The First Schedule to the Principal bye-laws is hereby amended--

(a) by the deletion of all matter at reference numbers 7, 16, 22, 23, 48 and 49 ; and

(b) by the addition of the matter in Table I to this Order.

5. The Second Schedule to the principal bye-laws is hereby amended by the deletion of all matter at reference numbers 5 and 6.

6. The Fourth Schedule to the principal bye-laws is hereby amended by the addition of :

" 24 Saint Stephen's Green, South.

25 Terenure Road, East, south side, west of its junction with Greenmount Road."

7. The Fifth Schedule to the principal bye-laws is hereby amended--

(a) by the deletion of all matter at reference numbers 1, 2, 7. 19, 34 and 35 ; and

(b) by the addition of :

8. No person shall keep a vehicle waiting at any time for any period in any street or portion of a street mentioned in the second column of Table II to these bye-laws, save that, where one side only of such street is mentioned in the third column of the said Table opposite the mention of such street in the said second column, the said prohibition shall apply only to the side so mentioned of such street or portion of a street.

9. The Dublin Traffic (Parking and Waiting) (Amendment) Bye-Laws, 1950 ( S.I. No. 98 of 1950 ), are hereby revoked.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section 8 of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933), the Commissioner has submitted the foregoing bye-laws to the Minister for Local Government; AND WHEREAS the provisions of subsections (1) and (5) of the said section 8 have been complied with in relation to the said bye-laws; NOW THEREFORE the Minister for Local Government in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 150 of the said Act hereby consents to the making of the said bye-laws.
