I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 22 of the Industrial Research and Standards Act, 1946 (No. 25 of 1946), as modified by section 5 of the Industrial Research and Standards (Amendment) Act, 1954 (No. 11 of 1954), hereby order as follows :-- |

1. This Order may be cited as the Standard Mark (General) Order, 1954. |
||
2. (1) The mark specified in the Schedule is hereby prescribed as the standard mark for use in connection with commodities, processes and practices generally to indicate that they conform to standard specification. |
||
(2) The standard mark must not be used in connection with any commodity, process or practice except in conjunction with the serial number assigned by the Institute to the standard specification for that commodity, process or practice. |
