S.I. No. 269/1955:

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1955 (DATE OF COMMENCEMENT) (No. 2) ORDER, 1955.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1955 (DATE OF COMMENCEMENT) (No. 2) ORDER, 1955.

The Minister for Local Government in pursuance of section 3 of the Local Government Act, 1955 (No. 9 of 1955), hereby orders as follows :--

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1955 (Date of Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1955.

(2) In this Order " the Act " means the Local Government Act, 1955 (No. 9 of 1955).

2. Section 35, section 53 and section 67 of the Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1956.

3. Section 5 of the Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1956, for the purpose of effecting the repeal of section 29 of the Local Government Act, 1925 (No. 5 of 1925).

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Local Government this Thirtieth day of December, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-five.
