OFFENCES AGAINST THE STATE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1940, (DETENTION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1957. |

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Defence, a Minister of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Offences Against the State (Amendment) Act, 1940 (No. 2 of 1940), do hereby order and make the following regulations, that is to say : |
||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Offences Against the State (Amendment) Act, 1940 , (Detention) (Amendment) Regulations, 1957. |
||
2. The Offences Against the State (Amendment) Act, 1940 , (Detention) Regulations, 1957 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1957 ), are hereby amended-- |
||
(a) by the substitution for paragraph 25 of the following paragraph : |
||
" 25. (1) In addition to any visits under subparagraph (3) of paragraph 26 of these Regulations, an internee may, on application to the Commandant-- |
||
(a) receive one visit per month from relatives, |
||
(b) at the discretion of the Adjutant-General, receive additional visits from relatives, |
||
(c) at the discretion of the Minister for Defence, receive visits from persons other than relatives. |
||
(2) Not more than three persons together shall be allowed to visit an internee." ; |
||
(b) by the substitution in paragraph 2 of the Appendix for " the Curragh Training Camp Military Hospital, Co. Kildare " of " the General Military Hospital, Curragh Training Camp, Co. Kildare " ; and |
||
(c) by the addition to the Appendix of the following paragraph : |
||
" 4. The Internment Camp, Curragh Training Camp, Co. Kildare." |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations effect minor changes in the main Regulations ( S.I. No. 146 of 1957 ) which provide for the command and administration of a camp for the internment of civilians. |
