MATERNITY AND CHILD HEALTH SERVICES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1958. |

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947), and section 22 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953) (as amended by section 2 of the Health Act, 1954 ) (No. 23 of 1954), hereby makes the following regulations : |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Maternity and Child Health Services (Amendment) Regulations, 1958. |
||
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 29th day of December, 1958. |
||
3. In these Regulations : |
||
" the Principal Regulations " means the Maternity and Child Health Services Regulations, 1954 ( S.I. No. 98 of 1954 ) ; |
||
" the Regulations of 1956 " means the Maternity and Child Health Services (Amendment) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 44 of 1956 ). |
||
4. The Principal Regulations shall be amended by the substitution of " eight hundred pounds " for " six hundred pounds " in sub-article (6) of article 10, in sub-article (4) of article 17, in sub-article (3) of article 20 and in sub-article (4) of article 22. |
||
5. Each reference in the Principal Regulations or in the Regulations of 1956 to section 15 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953), shall be construed as a reference to that section as amended by the Health and Mental Treatment (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 37 of 1958). |

6. " Social Welfare Act, 1952 , (as amended) " shall be substituted for " Social Welfare Act, 1952 " in Forms MCA, MCB and MCD, in the Schedule to the Regulations of 1956. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |

These Regulations make amendments in the regulations governing the Maternity and Child Health Services arising from the alterations in the classes eligible for these services made by the Health and Mental Treatment (Amendment) Act, 1958 and the Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1958 . |
