OFFICE PREMISES (OVERCROWDING) REGULATIONS, 1959.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 9 of the Office Premises Act, 1958 (No. 3 of 1958), after consultation with the Minister for Health and having referred the proposals to which effect is given by the following regulations to the Advisory Council, hereby make the following regulations :

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Office Premises (Overcrowding) Regulations, 1959.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1959.

2. For the purposes of subsection (2) of section 9 of the Office Premises Act, 1958 (No. 3 of 1958), fifty square feet shall be the minimum amount of floor space allowed for every person employed in any room.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to prescribe a minimum floor space for workers in offices.
