S.I. No. 124/1959:

MINISTERS AND SECRETARIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1959 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1959.

MINISTERS AND SECRETARIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1959 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1959.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1959 (No. 17 of 1959), hereby order as follows :--

1. This Order may be cited as the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1959 (Appointed Day) Order, 1959.

2. The day on which this Order is made is hereby appointed to be the appointed day for the purposes of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1959 (No. 17 of 1959).

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Government, this 27th day of July, 1959.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 27th day of July, 1959, as the day on which the Department of Transport and Power shall stand established.
