OPTICIANS ACT, 1956 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1959.

OPTICIANS ACT, 1956 (APPOINTED DAY) ORDER, 1959.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Opticians Act, 1956 (No. 17 of 1956) hereby orders as follows :--

1. This Order may be cited as the Opticians Act, 1956 (Appointed Day) Order, 1959.

2. The 1st day of December, 1959, shall be the appointed day for the purposes of the Opticians Act, 1956 .

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Health this Seventeenth day of October, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-nine.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides that, as from 1st December, 1959, the prohibitions and restrictions on the prescription and sale of spectacles provided for in Part VI of the Opticians Act, 1956 , will become effective.
