BOVINE TUBERCULOSIS (14-DAY TEST) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1960. |

I, PATRICK SMITH, Minister for Agriculture, it appearing to me to be necessary for the purpose of the progressive eradication of bovine tuberculosis, do hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 22 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894, and section 2 of the Diseases of Animals (Bovine Tuberculosis) Act, 1957 (No. 14 of 1957), hereby order as follows :-- |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Bovine Tuberculosis (14-Day Test) (Amendment) Order, 1960. |
||
(2) The Bovine Tuberculosis (14-Day Test) Orders, 1958 and 1959, and this Order may be cited together as the Bovine Tuberculosis (14-Day Test) Orders, 1958 to 1960. |
||
(3) This Order shall come into operation on the 8th day of February, 1960. |
||
2. Article 4 of the Bovine Tuberculosis (14-Day Test) Order, 1958 ( S.I. No. 161 of 1958 ), as amended by Article 3 of the Bovine Tuberculosis (14-Day Test) (Amendment) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 103 of 1959 ), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following subparagraph for subparagraph (g) of paragraph (1) : |

" (g) immediately after the insertion of the ear-tag, a mark shall, except in the case of a pedigree animal (that is to say, an animal registered in a herd book kept by any society, club or association of breeders), be applied by means of a tattoo to the right car of the animal,". |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order provides that pedigree animals, i.e., animals registered in a herd book kept by any society, club or association of breeders, undergoing a 14-day test, need not be marked by means of a tattoo in relation to that test. |
