DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1960.

DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1960.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (7) of section 33 of the Local Government Act, 1941 , hereby orders as follows :--

1.--(1) The County of Dublin shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in column one of the First Schedule to this Order.

(2) Every such county electoral area shall consist of the places set forth in the second column of the First Schedule to this Order opposite to the name of such county electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the Council of the County of Dublin to be elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the First Schedule to this Order opposite to the name of such county electoral area.

2. Every reference in the First Schedule to this Order to a district electoral division or borough shall be construed as referring to such district electoral division or borough as constituted at the date of this Order.

3. The Orders mentioned in the Second Schedule to this Order shall to the extent mentioned in the second column of that Schedule cease to apply.

4.--(1) (This Order may be cited as the Dublin County Council (Amendment) Order, 1960.

(2) This Order and the Dublin County Council Order, 1948 ( S.I. No. 267 of 1948 ) may be cited collectively as the Dublin County Council Orders, 1948 and 1960.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to divide Dublin County into six county electoral areas for the purpose of the election of members of Dublin County Council and to fix the number of members to be elected from each county electoral area.
