I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Act, 1952 (No. 29 of 1952), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Countries of Application) Order, 1961. |
||
2. It is hereby declared that the government of the Republic of Korea and the government of the Republic of Uruguay have accepted the Safety Convention. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order declares that the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1948, has been accepted by the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Uruguay. |
