S.I. No. 167/1961:

MERCHANT SHIPPING (SAFETY CONVENTION) (COUNTRIES OF APPLICATION) ORDER, 1961.

MERCHANT SHIPPING (SAFETY CONVENTION) (COUNTRIES OF APPLICATION) ORDER, 1961.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) Act, 1952 (No. 29 of 1952), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Safety Convention) (Countries of Application) Order, 1961.

2. It is hereby declared that the government of the Republic of Korea and the government of the Republic of Uruguay have accepted the Safety Convention.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 9th day of August, 1961.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order declares that the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1948, has been accepted by the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Uruguay.
