POLLING CARDS (DÁIL ELECTIONS, PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS AND REFERENDA) REGULATIONS, 1961.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 65 of the Electoral Act, 1923 (No. 12 of 1923), section 4 of the Presidential Elections Act, 1937 (No. 32 of 1937), section 3 of the Referendum Act, 1942 (No. 8 of 1942), subsection (1) of section 4 of the Presidential Elections (Amendment) Act, 1946 (No. 29 of 1946), subsection (1) of section 4 of the Referendum (Amendment) Act, 1946 (No. 30 of 1946) and section 4 of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1946 (No. 31 of 1946) by this his Order makes the following Regulations:--

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Polling Cards (Dáil Elections, Presidential Elections and Referenda) Regulations, 1961.

2. The form set out in the Schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of polling card for a Dáil election, a presidential election and a referendum.

3. (1) The Referendum (Prescribed Forms) Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 83 of 1959 ) shall be amended by the substitution of the form set out in the Schedule hereto for form R.A. 10 in the Schedule to the said Regulations.

(2) The Dáil Elections (Polling Cards) Order, 1951 ( S.I. No. 135 of 1951 ) and the Presidential Elections (Polling Cards) Regulations, 1950 ( S.I. No. 212 of 1950 ) are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe a new form of polling card for use at Dáil elections, presidential elections and referenda instead of those prescribed by the Dáil (Polling Cards) Order, 1951, ( S.I. No. 135 of 1951 ), the Presidential Elections (Polling Cards) Regulations, 1950 ( S.I. No. 212 of 1950 ) and the Referendum (Prescribed Forms) Regulations, 1959 ( S.I. No. 83 of 1959 ).
