ROAD TRAFFIC (BYE-LAWS AND TEMPORARY RULES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1962. |
The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 and subsection (3) of section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations :-- |
1.--(1) These Regulations may be referred to as the Road Traffic (Bye-Laws and Temporary Rules) (Amendment) Regulations, 1962. |

2. Article 4 of the Road Traffic (Bye-laws and Temporary Rules) Regulations, 1961 shall be amended by the insertion of the following paragraph after paragraph (2) :-- |
"(3) In the case of bye-laws under section 86 or section 88 of the act, the notice may, in lieu of the statement required under sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (2) of this article, contain a statement in general terms of the area in which the bye-laws are to have effect." |
GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Local Government this seventh day of April One Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixty-two. |
NEIL T. BLANEY, |
Minister for Local Government. |
EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Bye-laws and Temporary Rules) Regulations, 1961, which deal, inter alia, with the form of notice of the making of Garda bye-laws under the Road Traffic Act, 1961 . These Regulations provide that, in the case of bye-laws under sections 86 and 88 which will in general apply throughout the State, it will suffice if the notice of the making states in general terms the area of application of the bye-laws, instead of specifying the names of the local authority areas to which they will apply. |
