S.I. No. 89/1964:

AGRICULTURAL WAGES (MINIMUM RATES) ORDER, 1963 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1964.

AGRICULTURAL WAGES (MINIMUM RATES) ORDER, 1963 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1964.

The Agricultural Wages Board, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 17 of the Agricultural Wages Act, 1936 (No. 53 of 1936), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :--

1.--(1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) Order, 1963 (Amendment) Order, 1964.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 4th day of May, 1964.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. In this Order the expression " the Principal Order " means the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) Order, 1963 ( S.I. No. 249 of 1963 ).

4. The Principal Order is hereby amended by the deletion of the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Schedules thereto and the substitution therefor of the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Schedules respectively of this Order. Any reference to the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Schedules in the Principal Order and the Schedules thereto shall be construed as referring to the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Schedules respectively of this Order.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

MINIMUM RATES OF WAGES FOR SPECIFIED CLASSES OF AGRICULTURAL WORKERS.

Classes of Agricultural Workers

Rate per week in which 50 hours' work is done (exclusive of work on Sunday or weekly half-holiday)

Rate per hour for work done in any week in which less than 50 hours' work is done (exclusive of work on Sunday or weekly half-holiday)

Overtime rate per hour payable for any time worked in any week in excess of 50 hours (exclusive of work on Sunday or weekly half-holiday.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is

(i) to increase the minimum rates or wages payable to male agricultural workers in all counties and to female agricultural workers in Counties Dublin and Kildarek, who are 14 years of age and over ; and

(II) to increase the allowances for meals (Fourth Schedule).
