IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 145) (EXERCISE OF CERTAIN FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1964.

IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 145) (EXERCISE OF CERTAIN FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1964.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section I of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 145) (Exercise of Certain Functions) Order, 1964.

2. In this Order " the Principal Order " means the Imposition of Duties (No. 128) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1962 ( S.I. No. 163 of 1962 ).

3. Whenever the Minister for Finance so thinks proper and so. directs, the functions assigned to the Revenue Commissioners by Articles 6 and 8 of the Principal Order may be exercised by the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

4. Whenever the Minister for Finance so thinks proper and so directs, the functions assigned to the Revenue Commissioners by Article 7 of the Principal Order may be exercised by the Minister for Agriculture.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order empowers the Minister for Finance to assign to the Minister for Industry and Commerce and to the Minister for Agriculture, as appropriate, the functions hitherto exercised by the Revenue Commissioners in regard to the issue of licences remitting duties on goods subject to protective duties.
