CONTROL OF IMPORTS (AMENDMENT OF QUOTA No. 3 AND REVOCATION OF QUOTA No. 4) ORDER, 1965.

CONTROL OF IMPORTS (AMENDMENT OF QUOTA No. 3 AND REVOCATION OF QUOTA No. 4) ORDER, 1965.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 11 of the Control of Imports Act, 1934 (No. 12 of 1934), hereby order as follows :--

1.--(1) This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Amendment of Quota No. 3 and Revocation of Quota No. 4) Order, 1965.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1966.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 3) Order, 1934 (S.R. & O., No. 242 of 1934), as amended by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 3) (Amendment) Order, 1935 (S.R. & O., No. 18 of 1935), and by the Control of Imports (Quotas Nos. 1 to 32 (Amendment) Order, 1939 (S.R. & O., No. 402 of 1939), is hereby further amended by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph 4:

"4. This Order applies to boots and shoes which are completely or substantially manufactured, other than--

(a) such boots and shoes with outer soles and uppers of rubber or artificial plastic material, and

(b) boots and shoes which are imported for use exclusively in a stage play or other dramatic or musical representation or performance."

4. The Control of Imports (Quota No. 4) Order, 1934 (S.R. & O., No. 243 of 1934), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Instrument prohibits the importation, except under licence, of all footwear other than footwear with outer soles and uppers of rubber or artificial plastic material.
