DÚN LAOGHAIRE BOROUGH ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1966.

DÚN LAOGHAIRE BOROUGH ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1966.

The Minister for Local Government, in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 35 of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), as amended by sections 3 and 87 of the Electoral Act 1963 (No. 19 of 1963), hereby orders as follows :--

1. This Order may be cited as the Dún Laoghaire Borough Electoral Areas Order, 1966.

2. (1) In this Order "the Borough" means the Borough of Dún Laoghaire.

(2) In the Schedule to this Order a reference to a line drawn along any road, street or avenue shall be construed as a reference to a line drawn along the centre line of the road, street or avenue.

3. The Borough shall be divided into the local electoral areas set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

4. Each such local electoral area shall consist of the area described in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

5. The number of members of the Borough Council to be elected for each such local electoral area shall be the number set out in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

Commencing at the junction of Killiney Road and Ballinclea Road, thence in a north-westerly direction along Killiney Road to its junction with Barnhill Road, Albert Road, Upper Glenageary Road and Avondale Road, thence along Upper Glenageary Road to its junction with Lower Glenageary Road, thence in a north-easterly direction along Lower Glenageary Road, Park Road and the imaginary projection of Park Road to the foreshore, thence in a south-easterly direction along the foreshore and continuing along the foreshore to its intersection by the Borough boundary, thence in a south-westerly direction along the Borough boundary and continuing along the said boundary to the point first mentioned.

Commencing at the junction of Stradbrook Road, Abbey Road and Monkstown Avenue, thence in a north-easterly direction along Monkstown Avenue and Mount Town Road Upper to its junction with Mount Town Road Lower, Tivoli Road, Knapton Road and York Road, thence in a north-easterly nd northerly directions along York Road, Clarence Street and the imaginary projection of Clarence Street to the foreshore beyond the West Pier, thence in a south-westerly direction along the foreshore and continuing along the foreshore to its intersection by the Borough boundary, thence in a south-westerly direction along the Borough boundary and continuing along the said boundary to the point first mentioned.

Number Three

The Borough except the parts thereof comprised in the Number One and Number Two Local Electoral Areas.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order divides the Borough of Dún Laoghaire into three local electoral areas for the purposes of local elections and specifies five members of the Borough Council as the number of such members to be elected for each local electoral area.
