GARDA SIOCHANA PAY (NO. 4.) ORDER, 1966.

GARDA SIOCHANA PAY (NO. 4.) ORDER, 1966.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and section 1 of the Garda Síochána Act, 1958 (No. 14 of 1958), with the sanction of the Minister for Finance and after due compliance with subsection (2) of the said section 12, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 4) Order, 1966.

(2) This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1966.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1958 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1958 ), shall have effect as if the rates and scales contained in the Schedule to this Order were substituted for the relevant rates and scales (inserted by the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1966 ( S.I. No. 92 of 1966 )) contained in Article 4.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for increased rates of pay for members of the Garda Síochána of Garda rank with effect as from 1st June, 1966.
