OIL POLLUTION OF THE SEA (RECORDS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1967.

OIL POLLUTION OF THE SEA (RECORDS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1967.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 17 of the Oil Pollution of the Sea Act, 1956 (No. 25 of 1956), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Oil Pollution of the Sea (Records) (Amendment) Regulations, 1967.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 18th day of May, 1967.

3. The Oil Pollution of the Sea (Records) Regulations, 1957 ( S.I. No. 206 of 1957 ), are hereby amended by--

(a) the insertion in the first column of the form set out in the First Schedule to the Regulations at reference number 2 after " ship " of " at time of occurrence ",

(b) the insertion in the first column of the form set out in the Second Schedule to the Regulations--

(i) at reference number 1 after " tank(s) " of " concerned ",

(ii) at reference number 5 after " ship " of " at time of discharge ",

(iii) at reference number 8 after " tank(s) " of " concerned " and

(iv) between reference number 16 and paragraph (d) of " 17. Approximate quantities of water discharged " and

(c) the deletion from paragraph (d) of the said form of " from ship ",

(d) the insertion in the said first column at reference number 18 after " ship " of " at time of disposal ",

(e) the substitution in the said first column of " 18 ", " 19 " and " 20 " for " 17 ", " 18 " and " 19 ", respectively, and

(f) the insertion in the first column of the form set out in the Third Schedule to these Regulations--

(i) at reference number 1 after " tank(s) " of " concerned ",

(ii) at reference number 5 after " ship " of " at time of disposal ", and

(iii) at reference number 9 after " ship " of " at time of disposal ", and

(g) the deletion from paragraph (b) of the said form of " from ship ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations make a number of minor amendments in the form of the prescribed records which ships are required to keep in respect of oil which they discharge into the sea.
