S.I. No. 220/1968:

GARDA SÍOCHÁNA ALLOWANCES ORDER, 1968.

I, MICHEÁL Ó MÓRÁIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and section 1 of the Garda Síochána Act, 1958 (No. 14 of 1958), with the sanction of the Minister for Finance and after due compliance with subsection (2) of the said section 12, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Allowances Order, 1968.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. In this Order, "the Principal Order" means the Garda Síochána Allowances (Consolidation) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 218 of 1965 ).

4. (1) Article 5 of the Principal Order is hereby amended by--

(a) the substitution for the Table in paragraph (2) of the following Table :

	Absent 5 hours or more and less than 8 hours		Absent 8 hours or more and less than 12 hours		Absent 12 hours or more

(2) This Article shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1966.

5. (1) Article 5 of the Principal Order is hereby further amended by--

(a) the substitution for the Table in paragraph (2) (inserted by this Order) of the following Table :

(2) This Article shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1967.

6. (1) Article 10 of the Principal Order is hereby amended by--

(a) the substitution in paragraph (1) of "£46. 10. 0" for "£40".

(b) the substitution in paragraph (2) of "£37. 10. 0" for "£22 ".

(2) This Article shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 7th day of July, 1966.

7. (1) The Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution for the Table in that Schedule of the following Table :
