S.I. No. 117/1971:

HEALTH AUTHORITIES (DISSOLUTION) ORDER, 1971.

HEALTH AUTHORITIES (DISSOLUTION) ORDER, 1971.

The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 34 of the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970) hereby orders as follows:–

1. This Order may be cited as the Health Authorities (Dissolution) Order, 1971.

2. On the 1st April, 1971–

(a) the Dublin Health Authority, the Cork Health Authority, the Limerick Health Authority and the Waterford Health Authority shall be dissolved,

(b) all the property, rights and liabilities of each said Authority shall be transferred to the relevant health board,

(c) each holder of a health office (other than those specified in the Schedule hereto) under each said Authority shall be transferred to an office which is similar under the relevant health board,

(d) each holder on the date of this Order of each of the offices specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be transferred to the office specified in the second column of the said Schedule,

(e) each holder of a public assistance office under each said Authority shall be transferred to an office which is similar under the relevant health board,

(f) all contracts of a continuing character and all contracts and agreements in writing made by or with each said Authority and not fully executed and completed shall continue in force and have effect as if they had been made by or with the relevant health board, and

(g) all legal proceedings pending at the suit of or against each said Body shall continue in the name of the relevant health board.

SCHEDULE.

1. Acting Chief Executive Officer, Dublin Health Authority.

An office of Programme Manager, under the Eastern Health Board.

2. Acting Secretary, Dublin Health Authority.

An office of functional officer under the Eastern Health Board.

3. Accountant, Dublin Health Authority.

An office of Finance Officer under the Eastern Health Board.

4. Assistant Manager, Cork Health Authority.

An office of Programme Manager under the Southern Health Board.

5. Secretary, Cork Health Authority.

The office of Personnel Officer under the Southern Health Board.

6. Accountant, Cork Health Authority.

The office of Finance Officer under the Southern Health Board.

7. Secretary, Limerick Health Authority.

The office of Personnel Officer under the Mid-Western Health Board.

8. Accountant, Limerick Health Authority.

The office of Finance Officer under the Mid-Western Health Board.

9. Accountant, Waterford Health Authority.

The office of Finance Officer under the South-Eastern Health Board.

The Minister for Social Welfare hereby consents to the transfer effected by the Health Authorities (Dissolution) Order, 1971, of holders of public assistance offices.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order dissolves the Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford Health Authorities and transfers all the properties, rights, liabilities and staffs of the said authorities to the relevant health boards established under the Health Act, 1970 .
