S.I. No. 166/1971:

ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1971 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1971.

ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1971 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1971.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 11 of the Road Transport Act, 1971 (No. 8 of 1971), hereby make the following order :

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Transport Act, 1971 (Commencement) Order, 1971.

2. The 21st day of May, 1971, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Road Transport Act, 1971 (No. 8 of 1971), shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 20th day of May, 1971.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Instrument is to bring the Road Transport Act, 1971 into force on 21st May, 1971.
