MERCHANDISE MARKS (RESTRICTION ON IMPORTATION OF CERAMIC WARE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1972. |

I, PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce, having duly complied with subsections (2) and (3) of section 12 (as amended by section 7 of the Merchandise Marks Act, 1970 (No. 10 of 1970)) of the Merchandise Marks Act, 1931 (No. 48 of 1931), hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of that section, order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Merchandise Marks (Restriction on Importation of Ceramic Ware) (Amendment) Order, 1972. |
||
2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1972. |
||
3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. |
||
4. The Merchandise Marks (Restriction on Importation of Ceramic Ware) Order, 1969 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1969 ), is hereby amended-- |
||
(a) by the deletion from paragraphs 4 (a) and 4 (b) (i) of "'Tír a dheánta' preceded by the name, in Irish, of the country in which the goods were manufactured and also of the words". |
||
(b) by the substitution for paragraph 4 (b) (ii) of the following-- |
||
"(ii) an indication of origin marked on the goods and consisting of the word 'Foreign' or the word 'Imported' or of other words in English indicating that the goods were not manufactured in the State'"., |
||
(c) by the deletion of paragraphs 4 (c) and 7. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order amends the Merchandise Marks (Restriction on Importation of Ceramic Ware) Order, 1969, in such a way that the marking of origin is now required in English only. |
