FORMS (DÁIL ELECTIONS, PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS AND REFERENDA) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1972.

FORMS (DÁIL ELECTIONS, PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS AND REFERENDA) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1972.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 21 of the Electoral Act, 1923 (No. 12 of 1923), rule 3 (4) ot the Fourth Schedule to the said Act, sections 4 and 29 of the Presidential Elections Act, 1937 (No. 32 of 1937) and sections 3 and 20 of the Referendum Act, 1942 (No. 8 of 1942) hereby makes the following Regulations:--

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Forms (Dáil Elections, Presidential Elections and Referenda) (Amendment) Regulations, 1972.

2. The Forms (Dáil Elections, Presidential Elections and Referenda) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 246 of 1963 ) and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Forms (Dáil Elections, Presidential Elections and Referenda) Regulations, 1963 and 1972.

3. The Forms (Dáil Elections, Presidential Elections and Referenda) Regulations, 1963 are hereby amended by the substitution of forms D.E.5, D.E.6, P.E.2 and R.A.3 in the Schedule hereto respectively for forms D.E.5, D.E.6, P.E.2 and R.A.3 in the Schedule to the said Regulations.

INSTRUCTIONS.

When you have voted:--

1. Put the ballot paper into the small envelope (marked "Ballot Paper Envelope") and close it.

2. Put the ballot paper envelope TOGETHER WITH THE COMPLETED RECEIPT into the large envelope addressed to the Returning Officer. Close it.

3. Post it at once or your vote may be too late to be counted. THE BALLOT PAPER MUST BE POSTED AND CANNOT BE HANDED TO THE RETURNING OFFICER.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations amend the Forms (Dáil Elections, Presidential Elections and Referenda) Regulations, 1963, by prescribing new forms of ballot paper receipt and ballot paper envelope for use by postal voters at Dáil and Presidential Elections and Referenda.

The new forms do not provide for the insertion of the serial number of the ballot paper.
