EXPLOSIVES (NITRO-BENZENE) ORDER, 1972. |

WHEREAS the substance specified in this Order appears to the Government to be specially dangerous to life and property by reason of its explosive properties: |

NOW, the Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 104 of the Explosives Act, 1875, hereby order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Explosives (Nitro-benzene) Order, 1972. |
||
2. This Order shall come into operation on the 23rd day of September, 1972. |
||
3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. |
||
4. It is hereby declared that nitro-benzene shall be deemed to be an explosive within the meaning of the Explosives Act, 1875. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order declares nitro-benzene to be an explosive within the meaning of the Explosives Act, 1875, thus rendering this substance subject to the controls operated under that Act. |
