I, MICHAEL PAT MURPHY, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, being satisfied, having regard to the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Convention signed in London on the 24th day of January, 1959, that it is necessary to do so, hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1962 (No. 31 of 1962), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 83 of 1965 ) (as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 )) and the Fisheries (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 93 of 1973 ), order as follows : |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Control of Fishing for Salmon at Sea (Amendment) Order, 1975. |
||
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1976. |
||
2. The Control of Fishing for Salmon at Sea Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 309 of 1970 ), as amended by the Control of Fishing for Salmon at Sea (Amendment) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 296 of 1972 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for Article 2 of the following : |

"2. A person shall not fish for salmon in so much of the waters specified in the Schedule to this Order as lie outside the exclusive fishery limits of the State (for the purposes of Part XIII of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959))." |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order implements a recommendation of the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission prohibiting fishing for salmon in all areas outside national fishery limits which are within the jurisdiction of the Commission. |
