ELECTIONS OF CONSERVATORS (POSTPONEMENT) ORDER, 1977.

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Fisheries, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 2 (1) of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1976 (No. 23 of 1976), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 30 of 1977 ) (as adapted by the Lands (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 29 of 1977 )), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Elections of Conservators (Postponement) Order, 1977.

2. The elections of conservators which, pursuant to sections 22 and 27 of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959), and section 2 (1) (a) of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1976 (No. 23 of 1976), would fall to be held in the year 1977 or in such later year as the Minister for Fisheries may by order fix, shall be held in the year 1978.

This Order postpones the elections of conservators due to be held in the year 1977 to the year 1978.
