SOCIAL WELFARE (SINGLE WOMAN'S ALLOWANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1978. |

The Minister for Social Welfare in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and section 3 of the Social Welfare (No. 2) Act, 1974 (No. 14 of 1974) hereby makes the following Regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1978. |
||
2. These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) Regulations, 1974 may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) Regulations, 1974 and 1978. |
||
3. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st day of April, 1978. |
||
4. Article 5 of the Social Welfare (Single Woman's Allowance) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 209 of 1974 ) is hereby revoked. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of the Regulation is to remove the condition for receipt of a Single Woman's Allowance which requires an applicant to have resided in the State for a period of at least two years at any time before her claim. |
