S.I. No. 193/1978:

ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978 (PART III) REGULATIONS, 1978.

ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978 (PART III) REGULATIONS, 1978.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 26 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 , hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1978.

2. The form to be completed under section 21 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 , by a designated registered medical practitioner shall be in the form set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations.

3. The Certificate to be issued by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety under section 22 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 , shall be in the form set out in the Second Schedule to these Regulations.

4. The Regulations set out in the Third Schedule to these Regulations are hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

Form to be completed by a designated registered medical practitioner under section 21 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 .

1. Name and address of the person from whom the specimen to which this form relates was taken, or who provided the specimen.

I divided the specimen into two parts. I placed each part in a container, which I forthwith sealed. I labeled each container with the name of the person and the date. I gave both containers to a member of the Garda Síochána.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Certificate to be issued by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety under section 22 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 . Particulars relating to specimen received for analysis, as shown on the form completed by designated registered medical practitioner:

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe for the purposes of Part III of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 , the forms to be completed by the medical practitioner and by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety in relation to specimens of blood or urine, and revoke Regulations made under Part V of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 .
