STATE GUARANTEES ACT, 1954 (AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULE) ORDER, 1978.

The Government in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 9 of the State Guarantees Act, 1954 (No. 9 of 1954), hereby make the following order with respect to which, pursuant to that section, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the State Guarantees Act, 1954 (Amendment of Schedule) Order, 1978.

(2) The collective citation "the State Guarantees Act, 1954 (Amendment of Schedule) Orders, 1957 to 1978" shall include this order.

2. The Schedule to the State Guarantees Act, 1954 (No. 9 of 1954) is hereby amended by adding "Avoca Mines Ltd" to the bodies specified in the second column and inserting in the third column "£2,300,000' in respect of that body.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to enable borrowing by Avoca Mines Ltd. up to a maximum of £2,300,000 to be guaranteed by the Minister for Finance.
