EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (ANTI-DUMPING DUTY ON CERTAIN IRON AND STEEL GOODS) (SUSPENSION) REGULATIONS, 1978.

I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Recommendation No. 1235/78/ECSC¹ of the 8th day of June, 1978, hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may br cited as the European Communities (Anti-Dumping Duty on Certain Iron and Steel Goods) (Suspension) Regulations, 1978.

(2) These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 9th day of June, 1978.

2. The anti-dumping duty imposed by the European Communities (Imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty on Certain Goods of Iron and Steel) Regulations, 1978 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1978 ), on goods of the description specified in those Regulations shall not be charged or levied on any goods of that description which are imported into the State and which originate in Romania.

3. For the purposes of these Regulations, the country of origin of the goods shall be determined in accordance with the rules of origin contained in Council Regulation E.E.C. No. 802/68 ² of the 27th day of June, 1968 (as amended).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide for the suspension of the application of the anti-dumping duty imposed by the Regulations referred to in paragraph (2) above insofar as it relates to imports of certain iron and steel products originating in Romania.
