STATISTICS (DELEGATION OF POWERS AND DUTIES) (NO. 2), ORDER, 1979.

The Government, on the request of the Taoiseach and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Statistics (Delegation of Powers and Duties) (No. 2), Order, 1979.

2. The powers and duties of the Taoiseach under--

( a ) section 2 (2) of the Ministers and Secretaries Act, 1924 (No. 16 of 1924), in so far as it related to the Central Statistics Office,

( b ) the Statistics Acts, 1926 and 1946, and

( c ) the Civil Service Regulation Acts, 1956 and 1958, and the Civil Service Commissioners Act, 1956 , in so far as those Acts relate to the Central Statistics Office,

are hereby delegated to Michael Woods, Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order delegates to Michael Woods, Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach the statutory powers and duties of the Taoiseach under the Acts specified in paragraph 2.
