WILDLIFE ACT, 1976 (SECTION 44) (RECOGNISED BODIES) REGULATIONS, 1980.

I, PATRICK POWER, Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 44 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), as adapted by the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 195 of 1978 ), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Wildlife Act, 1976 (Section 44) (Recognised Bodies) Regulations, 1980.

(2) The Wildlife Act, 1976 (Section 44) (Recognised Bodies) Regulations, 1977 ( S.I. No. 335 of 1977 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Wildlife Act, 1976 (Section 44) (Recognised Bodies) Regulations, 1977 and 1980.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1980.

2. The Wildlife Act, 1976 (Section 44) (Recognised Bodies) Regulations, 1977, are hereby amended by the substitution of the following for the Schedule thereto:

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations declare the bodies specified in the Schedule to be recognised bodies for the purpose of prosecution of offences under Section 44 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 in relation to unlawful hunting, or entry on land for the purpose of hunting, of wild animals or wild birds on lands over which the said bodies are entitled to enjoy sporting rights.
