ROAD TRANSPORT (INTERNATIONAL CARRIAGE OF GOODS BY ROAD) ORDER, 1981.

I, ALBERT REYNOLDS, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 8 (2) of the Road Transport Act, 1971 (No. 8 of 1971) (inserted by section 4 of the Road Transport Act, 1978 (No. 8 of 1978)), and the Tourism and Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1980 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Transport (International Carriage of Goods by Road) Order, 1981.

2. A permit granted by the Minister for Transport and issued by the Direktoratet for Vejtransport of the Kingdom of Denmark under the agreement made on the 26th day of February, 1981, between the Government and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark on the international carriage of goods by road (being an international agreement relating to international transport by road) shall be deemed to be a restricted road freight licence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Instrument is to declare that permits granted to Danish carriers by the Minister for Transport and issued by the competent authority of the Kingdom of Denmark under the Road Transport Agreement of 26th February, 1981 between Ireland and the Kingdom of Denmark shall be deemed to be restricted road freight licences.
