COUNTY MANAGEMENT (LAOIGHIS AND OFFALY) ORDER, 1981.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 13 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955 , with the consent of the Minister for Health and the Minister for Social Welfare, hereby orders as follows:--

1.(1) This Order may be cited as the County Management (Laoighis and Offaly) Order, 1981.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the first day of April, 1982.

2. The application in relation to the Counties of Laoighis and Offaly of subsection (2) of section 3 of the County Management Act, 1940 , is hereby terminated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order terminates, as from the 1st April, 1982, the application of subsection (2) of section 3 of the County Management Act, 1940 , to the counties of Laoighis and Offaly. Under the subsection the same person was to be county manager for each of these counties. The effect of this Order is to require each of those counties to have its own individual county manager.
