I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 76 (4) of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), hereby order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (Wireless Telegraphy) (No. 3) Order, 1983. |
||
2. An Post is hereby empowered to exercise the functions conferred on the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs by or under the Wireless Telegraphy Acts, 1926 to 1972, in relation to the collection of fees for and sale of television licences and the identification of persons who have television sets not authorised by a licence for the time being in force. |
||
3. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1984. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order empowers An Post to collect fees for, and sell, television licences, and to identify persons in possession of unlicensed or incorrectly licensed sets. |
