I, ALAN M. DUKES, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 (3) of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969), hereby make the following order. |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (Section 2(3)) (Appointed Day) Order, 1985. |
||
2. The 2nd day of December 1985, is hereby appointed as the day on and after which, pursuant to section 2 (3) of the Decimal currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969), the new penny shall be known as the penny. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE |
||
This Order ends the designation "new penny" as introduced by the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 . Henceforth the legal description of this denomination of money shall be the "penny". |
