S.I. No. 97/1986:

PRISONS ACT, 1970 (SECTION 7) ORDER, 1986.

PRISONS ACT, 1970 (SECTION 7) ORDER, 1986.

I, ALAN M. DUKES, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 (1) of the Prisons Act, 1970 (No. 11 of 1970), and after consultation with the Visiting Committee to Saint Patrick's Institution, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Prisons Act, 1970 (Section 7) Order, 1986.

2. The Prisons Act, 1970 (Section 7) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 118 of 1985 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for Article 3(2) of the following:

"(2) The section shall be in operation for the period of two years commencing on the 26th day of April, 1985, and shall cease to be in operation upon the expiration of that period.".

3. The Prisons Act, 1970 (Section 7) (No. 2) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 348 of 1985 ), is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order continues in operation Section 7 of the Prisons Act, 1970 for a further period of twelve months.
