CANALS ACT, 1986 (VESTING DAY) ORDER, 1986.

I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Communications, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 20 of the Canals Act 1986 (No. 3 of 1986), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Canals Act, 1986 (Vesting Day) Order, 1986.

2. The first day of July, 1986, is hereby appointed to be the vesting day for the purposes of the Canals Act, 1986 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints 1 July 1986 as the vesting day, under the Canals Act, 1986 , for the transfer of the Royal Canal and the Grand Canal (including the Barrow Navigation) and associated property, etc., from Córas Iompair Éireann to the Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland.
